Salvation
A New Beginning

Salvation is like a fresh beginning that is ushered in by the radiance of light at the dawning of a new day. Salvation goes beyond the initial receiving of Jesus as Savior and Lord; it offers a new beginning at each turning point in a Christian's life with the light of God's Word as a guide.

Webster's dictionary defines salvation as deliverance from sin and penalty. When we received Jesus as Savior and Lord, our spirit became born again. This means that the flesh is still going to want to do what it has been doing. Therefore, we are to workout our own salvation according to Philippians 2:12.

In our quest of working out our own salvation, we need to believe and act like new creatures, where old things are new, II Corinthians 5:17. Paul tells us to forget those things that are behind us, and reach for those things that are before us, Philippians 3:13. It is the old habits and ways of doing things that should be passing away and forgotten. Why? Because they are the hinderances to the abundant life Jesus suffered and died for Christians to experience according to John 10:10.

In your reaching for those things that are before you, challenges in this life will come. However, you are an overcomer. Christians should recognize challenges in this life as pathways to a new beginning; to a more excellent way of living. With a renewed mind and faith aligned with God's Word, you will receive the victory. Hallelujah!

You can begin to live in the newness of life today, becoming all that God has created you to be. It does not matter where you are in life. The choice is yours. "...we also should walk in the newness of life", Romans 6:4.

Oh Taste And See

Oh taste and see,
That the Lord is good,
His mercy endures forever.

Oh taste and see,
That the Lord is good,
His love endures forever.

Oh taste and see,
That the Lord is good,
He will never leave you.

Oh taste and see,
That the Lord is good,
He will never forsake you.

Oh taste and see,
That the Lord is good,
He shed His innocent blood.

Oh taste and see,
That the Lord is good,
He died for you and me.

Oh taste and see,
That the Lord is good,
He made man to be free.

Oh taste and see,
That the Lord is good,
He has out-stretched arms.

Oh taste and see,
That the Lord is good,
He desires a relationship with you.

Oh taste and see,
That the Lord is good.

PRAYERS AND PROMISES

Prayer is how Christians are to communicate with God through Jesus Christ by ending each prayer in Jesus’ name. That name is above all names, Philippians 2:10, and is important along with faith to answered prayer, John 14:13-14. Prayer is a privilege that should be entered into with a heart of reverence, humility, and thanksgiving before God. Asking for forgiveness of sin is needed to clear the prayer path. Christians serve a holy God who hates sin. We must be pure and in right standing with God through true repentance of sin. Prayer is also a personal endeavor where everything can be shared with God. He already knows all about our circumstance even before we pray, Matthew 6:8. Be honest with God and yourself.

God’s Word includes promises from God to His people. His Word says, “Beloved I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health even as thy soul prospereth”, III John 1:3. You must know that God wants you to be blessed, Hebrews 4:16. He ask us to put Him in remembrance of His Word, Isaiah 43:26, not for Himself, but so that as believers we can pray and confess His Word about our circumstance. God’s Word is faith confessed, until it’s possessed.

The Lord’s prayer found in Matthew 6:9-13 is a model prayer which outlines how to pray effectively. God speaks to the heart, by faith allow the Holy Spirit to guide you in praying heart felt prayers.

In waiting for your answer patience is needed. Scripture tells us, “Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your request be made known unto God”, Philippians 4:6.
